Do you charge Travel Fees and how it affects total moving costs? Since this is the most common question we keep getting from our potential customers, Call the Movers is about to share some helpful information about moving costs which commonly include travel fees.
HOW TRAVEL FEES ARE COUNTED?
First of all, each moving company may charge moving costs a bit differently. Call the Movers base moving calculations on this easy formula: Job Time = Move Time + Travel Time.
- Travel time is equal to time spent preparing the moving truck (cleaning up, refueling), driving from the moving facility to the client’s initial location, and back to the office.
- Move time is calculated from the arrival moment to the client location to finishing unloading, and final inspection at the destination address. Be sure – the moving crew’s lunchtime is always deducted from the total move time and moving costs.
- Moreover, the cost of the travel fee will be provided during the initial call with Call the Movers agent.
We would like to highlight that Call the Movers apply only one hour of travel time for all jobs in Northern Virginia, some of Maryland, and any of the Washington, DC metro area. Also, if you are further away, our moving professional will gladly inform you about the travel fee to your specific location to keep you informed and well prepared when taking care of total moving costs.
