The COVID-19 has affected just about every facet of our lives and every industry has had to change the way they do business, and the moving industry is no different. As an essential business industry, moving companies have continued to run even more relocation-related projects with health and safety as their top priority.
The real estate market began to recover in May and now is again closer towards “normal” while home prices reached all-time highs. Realtor groups around the country have reported that home sales continue to be strong in many areas around the country, as buyers look for new places to relocate while local and long-distance moving companies see some new moving trends because people have their new exiting thoughts about what they are looking for.
Relocating next to the family
Not all people who are moving buy new homes or apartments. According to the PEW Research Center report, most people who have recently moved were relocating to family members’ homes to spend more time together in their cozy childhood rooms. Most students moved back to their family homes because now they could study remotely, whereas elder people moved to look after their grandchildren, while parents were able to work in their home offices.
Home offices
Working from home has become crucial for businesses to still operate and perform well nowadays. Once people began working remotely, they realized that they needed a special space for a dedicated home office, because working in a kitchen, bedroom, or a living room was not as comfortable as it had appeared months ago. Therefore, potential homebuyers became interested in properties with sufficient space or an additional room to build a small and cozy home office. Businesses have learned to operate remotely therefore extra room for a home office is definitely the newest trend in moving industry.
Moving out from big cities
At the same time, potential homebuyers became interested in properties with backyards, where they can spend more time outside, enjoy a small garden and its goodies.
